You can just read them in release order (starting with Sword of Destiny) though if you wanted, you could read The Last Wish first as most of its stories appear to happen before all the other books.
There's also 8 books right now.
Thanks for helping me. You've been a great help.
^ I forgot the full specific order i always screenshot it but it's on my tablet.
I just have the copy text. The order are
The Last Wish (short story collection)
Sword of Destiny (short story collection)
Blood of Elves (beginning of novels)
Time of Contempt
Baptism of Fire
The Tower of Swallows
Lady of the Lake

Lol sorry (for the late reply) i don't saw the date...
Thanks, i was searching for the full version, but i thought there are 2 more books. I think the names of them are Season Of Storms and Something Ends, Something Begins. Are they just 2 more short stories like the first 2 books or are they a part of the main story? Also thanks for the reply, i already knew that the first ones are The Blood Of Elves, Sword Of Destiny and The Last Wish. I am reading Sword Of Destiny now.
^ Hello yes there are other books but those books not necessary to read. But if you just want to know about witcher world and wanted some reading material when you're bored it's ok. The seasons of the storm is set between the short stories inside the last wish. Something end i don't know about that book. But i think if you don't read it it's ok. The primarily story in Witcher book are the two short stories then the main original novel.
And just for info there are comics and E-comic too.. I recomended you're reading it to. But i forgot the order let me try search it.
Lol i lost my screenshot and note of the order on my tablet but i try searching it in reddit i will copy the link

Are we talking about chronology? Then...
"Reasons of State" takes place between the Sword of Destiny and Something More short stories.
"Matters of Conscience" takes place after The Witcher 2 - Assassins of Kings, following an ending where Geralt chose Iorveth's path and let the dragon live.
"Killing Monsters" takes place shortly before the beginning of The Witcher 3 - Wild Hunt.
"Curse of Crows" takes place after The Witcher 3 - Wild Hunt. It follows an ending state where Ciri became a witcher and Geralt romanced Yennefer.
"House of Glass" takes place at an unknown time. But most likely it's before the five novels, at the same time as the short stories.
"Fox Children" is an adaptation of two chapters in Season of Storms. It is technically non-canon since it's not a 1:1 adaptation (with some pretty notable changes to boot) and the games follow the books.
So, for the complete experience:
A Road of No Return (short story, no official translation, fan translation available)
Season of Storms (novel)
The Last Wish (short story collection)
House of Glass (comic, somewhere hereabouts)
Read the Sword of Destiny collection up to The Sword of Destiny short story within it
Reasons of State (comic)
Finish the Sword of Destiny collection by reading Something More
Blood of Elves (novel)
Time of Contempt (novel)
Baptism of Fire (novel)
The Tower of the Swallow (novel)
The Lady of the Lake (novel)
The Witcher (video game)
The Witcher 2 - Assassins of Kings (video game)
Matters of Conscience (comic, only if you picked the Iorveth path and spared the dragon)
Killing Monsters (comic)
Killing Monsters (cinematic trailer/short film - yes, this is part of the game canon too)
The Witcher 3 - Wild Hunt (video game, with the Hearts of Stone expansion either within the main story or post-game)
Curse of Crows (comic, only if Ciri became a witcher and Yennefer was romanced)
Blood and Wine (video game expansion)
A Night to Remember (cinematic trailer/short film)
Whew.
Clarification: The books are still the only "hard" canon. But this list shows where the expanded stories take place around them.
Another note from me......
All of the above are the comics specific timeline. But from what I know those comic are made by Dark Horse under the request of Cd Red Projeck soo the comic is basically just a semi canon/not canon (but Canon to the game). I have those digital comic it's pretty good but i accidentally deleted it hehe.
I will give you the easier comic order:
Witcher 1 (Game)
Reasons of State (Comic)
Witcher 2 (Game)
Matters of Conscience (Comic)
Witcher 3 (Game)
House of Glass (Comic)
Fox Children (Comic)
Witcher 3 DLC (Game)
Killing Monsters (Comic)
Curse of Crows (Comic)
And just for suggestion i read the novel using the paperback version plus audiobook it much more immersive and for me. But without the audiobook it's OK too.
WOW, that was a lot of writing. Thank you VERY VERY much, i didnt expect you to write me the order of the comics and books that detailed. I planned to read only the books and those short stories but i just may read the comics. I also played all the witcher games 1 2 3, i played the first game only one time but i might play it again, i played the 2nd game 3 or maybe even 4 times and the third game i played 6 or 5 times including the dlcs. Now i started it again.
ive played thronebreaker and the standalone gwent game too. I am reading sword of destiny now though i already read blood of elves because the 2nd book came later, and i also read last wish. But if you read the comics. could you tell me if they are good and worth buying because i want to be sure of the things i buy, like i always check the game play and reviews of games before i buy them and i see the cheapest option too. And thanks again for the details.
^ Lol... Just wanted to help fellow fan i just wrote small part of the text. The text about the order i just copy from the redditor credit for her or him in the link.
The comic is pretty good i read the first chapter about 20 percent but suddenly i got busy and when i want to read it again i accidentally deleted it. Just preview it yourself or if you have an android device you downland the free sample of the comic in Google playbook they have everything. Im not an comic fan. I have Marvel comic but it never interested me so it just shelving in my house. But when i read the Witcher comic i much more enjoyed because the story (is short stories so you don't actually need to read many of the version and the adventures is good). See it for yourself in the sample.
And... Just another note. If you have the physical book read it while opening YouTube and search witcher book audiobook. Someone will narrate the book for you and there are a little bit voice effect. Lol although your reading time will be much longer because of the narration it's feel very nice (ah.. reading it with narration and a hot cup of tea while the rain pouring in good life hehe).
I will try to read the comics as you say. I never read comics a lot, i only read some comics when i was a child like Asterix and Obelix. And i never read books until later in school when it piqued my interest. I didnt expect to even read the witcher books that fast, i read the first book The Last Wish in 2 days. Thanks for the advice.
And also i am getting the book series in the local library so i dont have to listen on the internet, and its much better reading the solid book in real life than listening or reading it on a computer. I tried doing that but it was just awful for me, when you are reading it yourself you can imagine the voices of the people that are talking like geralts cold voice, you can imagine the scenery also and the sounds and overall its much better reading it yourself in real life, and not getting it served on the table. And i recommend you read the books again maybe, i saw in your comments that you forgot a bit of both the witcher games and books, for example like the names or places or signs. Have a good day : - }
