Acquired Tolerance is an ability in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt from the Alchemy tree.

Description[]

Level 1:

Level 2:

  • Every known level 1 or 2 alchemy formula increases maximum Toxicity by 0.5 (1 before next-gen update).
  • Potion duration time: +10%

Level 3:

  • Every known level 1, 2 or 3 alchemy formula increases maximum Toxicity by 0.5 (1 before next-gen update)
  • Potion duration time: +15%

Tips[]

  • Nearly all formulas are taken into account, even those that are quest related and can only be brewed once like Formula: The Decoctions of the Grasses. It also does not matter if the formula is ever brewed or not, for example if one does not wish to brew the Doppler decoction the recipe will still give the additional point.
  • Most alchemy formulae count as level 1 regardless of their quality tier, the only ones that count as level 2 and 3 are those for creating improved versions of potions, oils and bombs. Meaning all recipes for "enhanced" versions count as level 2 while all "superior" count as level 3.
    • Thus level 2 and 3 of the skill will give up to 16 (32 before) additional points (32 in total, 64 before), 6 for potions (12 before), another 6 for oils (12 before) and 4 for bombs (8 before).
  • There are up to 147 recipes in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, 1 additional recipe is added with Hearts of Stone expansion and 19 more with Blood and Wine expansion, and 1 more with Patch 4.0 giving a total of 84 (167 before), thus with the base 100 the toxicity pool can reach a total 184 using this skill.
    • There are actually 31 recipes in Blood and Wine, however, the 12 additional recipes for dyes do not count, making them the only exception in the game.
  • When starting a New Game + 4 recipes will be lost and will have to be relearned, bringing the total down to 81.5, the lost recipes are:
  • The amount of formulas that can be found is dependant on Geralt's current level. Thus the magnitude of this skill is also indirectly linked to it.
    • The toxicity pool should be increased by 100% (50% Patch 4.0) around level 10 (+100 formulas). While only at level 30 will all formulas be possible to be found.
