Level 3:
- Maintaining an active shield no longer drains Stamina. Stamina drain for blocked attacks unchanged. Damage absorbed by the shield restores player Vitality.
- Stamina regeneration in combat: +1.5/s
Tips[]
- To activate the skill simply hold the key which is used to cast signs and then keep holding it to maintain it.
- The shield converts damage into healing and like normal Quen will remove negative effects like poison when activated.
- As of Patch 4.0, negative effects will no longer be removed but instead drain Quen accordingly. So if active shield is used while under such an effect it will cause Geralt's health to regenerate.
- When Golden Oriole is used Quen will ignore any damaged caused by poison. However, Geralt will still be poisoned but take no damage regardless.
- If the Superior version is used, Geralt's health will regenerate accordignly even if he is poisoned while Quen is active.
- The skill will prevent Geralt from running but he will be able to walk still if required.
- The shield can be released at any time by simply letting go of the key. It is a good idea to release the shield when stamina is low instead of having an enemy attack break it as Geralt will take part of the damage then.
- At level 3 the skill will not use up any stamina unless struck by an enemy effectively allowing the skill to be spammed.
- During prolonged battles this can be used along with the ancient leshen decoction to build up extraordinarily high stamina regeneration.
