Adieu's Free Company was an elite fighting unit consisting of experienced soldiers, or condottieri, who were financed by Kovir. They were sent in as reinforcements and with the help of the Mahakam Volunteer Army, helped turn the tide at the battles at Mayena and Brenna.
Several members of the Free Company were former prisoners, members of the Sly cats, who were released on the condition that they join the company.
