Agnes of Glanville was the first human woman to become a sorceress and a master of air-based magic. She was a founding member of the first Chapter of the Brotherhood of Sorcerers, and the author of The Secret of Secrets.[1]
Biography[]
First Landing[]
Around the 760s, Agnes was born to two settlers that arrived in the First Landing and grew up in the first human settlement. Jan Bekker and Giambattista later selected her to undergo magical tests to deduce whether she was a Source. After it was confirmed, she was taken with the other Sources to Mirthe, the first seat of mages, to start training. Emotional from her detachment with her mother, she formed a connection with Giambattista.[2]
Formation of the Chapter[]
In the late half of the 9th century, the first Chapter was installed and their magical laws enacted by Agnes, Herbert Stammelford, Aurora Henson, Ivo Richert, Geoffrey Monck and Radmir of Tor Carnedd. Many mages did not conform to their laws, and so a bloody war broke out, Raffard the White being a casualty.[2]
