Aiden was a witcher of the Cat School, and the best friend of Lambert of the Wolf School.
Biography[]
Unlike many other witchers from the Cat School, Aiden only took contracts to hunt monsters, refusing jobs that involved killing humans.
Aiden's first encounter with Lambert happened when both were hired to deal with the Ogre of Ellander. Lambert had been tasked with lifting the curse on the ogre, while Aiden was contracted to kill it. After the ogre killed Lambert's employer, the two witchers struck a deal, slayed the creature together, and split the reward. From that point on, they collaborated often and became close friends, with Lambert describing Aiden as "the best man I'd ever met."
At some point, Aiden accepted a contract to lift a curse from a duke's daughter, a job that would eventually lead to his death. However, there are conflicting accounts of how his death occurred.
According to Lambert, the situation was politically complicated, as some of the duke's courtiers did not want the curse lifted from the duke's firstborn. Additionally, Aiden faced prejudice for being a Cat School witcher. Lambert believed this led to Jad Karadin's band of assassins being hired to kill Aiden, with Karadin himself supposedly landing the final blow.
In contrast, Jad Karadin claimed a different version of events. He said Aiden had indeed been hired to lift the curse but botched the job, leading to the girl's death. Karadin's group was then hired, not as assassins, but as debt collectors. When they confronted Aiden, who had already spent the money, they demanded his swords as payment. Tempers flared, and during the altercation, Aiden attacked them. Vienne, a member of Karadin's group, lost her nerve and shot Aiden, hitting him square in the eye.
