The invading forces ignored the Lyrians at first. After all, the Nilfgaardians were better equipped, better trained and, most importantly, held a considerable numerical advantage... However, their supremacy quickly began to vanish. Black-clad soldiers fell one after the other to the blows of Meve's infantry. The Nilfgaardian commander, watching in disbelief, trumpeted for reinforcements...
