Alfred Nabel was an inventor and genius. One of his inventions led to his death by his own hands.
Biography[]
An incomparable inventor, Alfred spent years researching an explosive substance which he intended for use in mines and quarries. Unfortunately, others realized it worked just as well to bring down castle walls and even began to consider using it in open battle.
When Alfred learned his discovery had been turned into a weapon, he burned his lab and killed himself. The Council of Mages then stopped his invention from spreading, although the substance would later be used by witchers as a base for their Grapeshot bomb.[1]
