Warfare did not appeal to me. My vathair, however - meaning, my father... He fought at Sodden Hill. Survived despite a lung run through with a spear and a right hand that went missing. | |||
- Calixte Moire discussing his father, Blood and Wine expansion |
Antoine Moire, the father of Calixte, was a member of the Impera Brigade and later the founder of The Silver Salamander Inn in Toussaint's Vedette Valley. His greatest feat was at the Second battle of Sodden where he showed particular courage, as evidenced by the Medal of the Silver Salamander which was awarded to him by Emperor Emhyr var Emreis himself in honor of his valor and dedication on the field of battle.
The injuries, however, meant he could no longer serve his monarch as before and so he decided to retire. Of all the imperial provinces, he chose Toussaint for its climate and wine, with both having a positive effect on healing. For a Nilfgaardian war pension he bought an inn that he named after the medal he was so proud of and, when he died, he passed his property on to his son.
