Blood-covered letter is a book in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
This letter is found on a corpse at Calveit Watchtower, inside the main tower. However, it can be difficult to obtain as it can only be retrieved before the abandoned site there is cleared of ghouls, which constantly keep Geralt in combat mode, which prevents looting. As soon as the last ghoul is killed, the area is liberated and cleared of any corpses, including the one with the letter on it.

- It's horrible, what you wrote me. How are you and a few others supposed to hold off an enraged mob? They should either send more men or let you retreat. Tell that to those brilliant generals of yours! High time someone talked some sense into them. You might only be a Corporal Treasurer, but if you lay it all out to them calmly, I'm sure they'll listen to reason.
- Be careful out there, sweetie. Always wear a helmet to battle and put on those thick socks I sent when you go to bed. From what I've heard, it's always cold and rainy in the North, so remember to look after your health!
