Bolt with bait is a craftable ammunition item in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt that can be purchased from the following merchants:
- Blacksmith in Oxenfurt
- Zoltan Chivay during The Battle of Kaer Morhen, if he is recruited
- Smith during the "Witcher" epilogue, if Redania wins the war
Crafting Requirements
Min. Required Level: Amateur blacksmith
They do not appear as regular random loot, but stacks of 5-10 have a 50% chance to appear on some soldiers' bodies in southeastern Velen, and one in Novigrad's outskirts:
- On the southern tip of Fyke Isle
- On the southern end of the Bandits' Camp island, closer to Drudge, by a tree just uphill from the beach and near three tombstones
- Again by a tree on the same island, south from the Bandits' Camp and east of the small pier
- On the closest of two isles east of the Bandits' Camp, northeast of the previous place
- East-southeast of the last location, on the northern edge of what looks like a small lake, sharply downhill from the road
- Further east, near a shrine north of The Orphans of Crookback Bog, just south of a ruined house nearby
- Two bodies in a small inlet on the coastline far southeast of Benek
- In the woods directly south of Winespring Grange and west of Martin Feuille's Farmstead
Bugs[]
- The crafting screen will show these to have level 8 required and 0.01 , but any crafted bolts with bait will have a level requirement of 1 and 0.06 . While not erroneous per se, "+6 Piercing damage" will also be shown as an effect instead of the inherent base damage on the bolts, which actually ends up as "5-7 Piercing damage".
