Brían was a merchant from Xin'trea, who was the secret lover of Eredin, the commander-in-chief of the Golden Empire army, since relationships between lower classes were prohibited.
Biography[]
In a state of wine bliss, Brían recommended that his fellow merchants leave the city. In doing so, he inadvertently worsened the famine in Xin'trea, as the citizens and especially the military depended on grain supplies from merchants.
Empress Merwyn observed one of the secret meetings between Brían and Eredin. He used this knowledge to lure Eredin into his service. She promised Brían a seat on her new council and the social status necessary to be with Eredin, if the two would ally with her against the mage Balor. Unfortunately, Balor ended up banishing and imprisoning Eredin in another sphere.
