This is my kingdom! Forged in fire and bathed in human blood. It will be great once more, as it was in ages past. This oath I swear on the sun and the stars. | |||
- Bran's oath in the ballad, A Fractured Land: Tales of the Northern Realms |
Bran Tuirseach, renowned as Bran the Conqueror, was a Skelligan warlord from Clan Tuirseach before the 13th century.
An ambitious man, he had taken the Isles' crown by force but was killed soon after. Nonetheless, he remained a hero to his clan and skalds preserved his memory in a song.[1] According to it, Bran intended to revive Skellige's glory through daring campaigns.[2]
Trivia[]
