A construct is a magically animated object able to perform simple tasks such as digging tunnels or fighting. The most common and simplest constructs are called golems – mindless figures made of clay, metal or wood that are programmed by mages to serve as servile workers and guardians.[1]
A construct may serve as a body for much more powerful creature, the elemental summoned by mage from Elemental or Para-Elemental Plane. Such construct is usually named after an elemental it is fueled by; for example a Fire Elemental is fueled by a being summoned from the Plane of Fire.[3][4]
Constructs are immune to mind-affecting spells,[1] bleeding wounds and poisons. They are however suspectible to dimeritium bombs[2][3] and dispelling.[1]
Notes[]
- Gwent: The Witcher Card Game categorizes frighteners as constructs rather than mutants or insectoids. That would mean that they are more akin to Frankenstein's monster rather than to transformed arthropods such as koscheys. However, as tags in this game are often erroneous and tend to change from time to time, this cannot be concluded without the developer's confirmation.
