Dog tallow is an alchemy ingredient in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt that is needed to craft many blade oils:
It is a random drop from all dogs and wolves, though it also appears as regular random loot. It can be purchased from the following merchants:
- All herbalists in White Orchard and Velen
- All herbalists in Skellige except Yolar
- Gremist at Gedyneith
- Herbalist outside the Cunny of the Goose inn
- Herbalist in Glory Lane
- Jonna in Rannvaig
- Merchant in the Fish Market in Novigrad
- Merchant in Putrid Grove
- Otto Bamber at the Herbalist's Hut northeast of Oxenfurt
- The Pellar near Blackbough
- Herbalist in Barrengarth
- Master Topical in his hut northwest of Vikk Watchtower
- Merchant in the Perfumery in Beauclair
- Pinastri in her home northeast of Dun Tynne Crossroads

Some dog tallow is also always found along with bear fat in a couple of chests at the Abandoned Village in White Orchard.
