The Dragon Mountains are the most northerly mountain range in the Northern Kingdoms. According to Villentretenmerth, even up until the 13th century, no man had crossed its peaks, due to both the region's extreme remoteness and the dragon population that gives the range its name.[1]

The kingdoms located in the mountains' foothills, such as Kovir and Poviss, stayed content to mine the vast mineral reserves (including gold, silver, and platinum) found throughout the valleys and peaks, rather than expand further north in exploration.[1]

Notes[]

  • The map used by CD PROJEKT RED identify the Koviri mountains with this range, but it isn't confirmed in the books. Furthermore, if truly "no one" went beyond the mountains, that would mean that Far North is located south to it, as its inhabitants were known to trade with the Nordlings.
