It's kind of like a fiend, but bald and with a nose that hangs to the ground. What? No, you're making things up! | |||

Elephants are gigantic creatures who inhabit the warmer parts of the Continent. They are characterized by tusks and enormous trunks (elongated noses) that can catch things and manipulate the environment.[1]
Apart from the common Far South elephant, there are other related trunked mammals living in different areas of the world and hunted for ivory. In Zerrikania, a species of elephants is rumored to be prey of giant spiders.[3] Mastodons are hairy animals known to Nordlings because of their size that roam forested areas,[4] while mammoths are covered in thick fur and adopted to Far North tundra climate.[5][6]
Elephants in culture[]
Elephant tusks are the source of ivory, a highly valued hard material.[7][4][8][9]
Elephants can be tamed and used by armies. A number of these animals were shipped from Ofir to Northern Realms by mercenaries after Dulla kh'Amanni's expedition.[2]
The elephant is a piece used in the Nordling chess.[10]
