Embla is a river that makes up the southernmost branch of the Pontar, with the two rivers creating a land between them that was once called Emblonia. However, the kingdom soon fell into decline until it disappeared, being swallowed up by its neighbors, Temeria and Redania, and subsequently divided into Pontaria (which Embla bordered on the south) and Riverside (which the Pontar bordered on the north). However, both the Pontar and Embla were known to fluctuate and with heavy rain could alter and move its course by 2 to 3 miles, making the area rift with contention over border disputes between the two kingdoms.[1]
