The Empire, or Imperium, was a political entity south and southwest to the Sea of Gales. It held an authority over several ports, as well the Veverian Duchies. The Empire was bordered by unexplored wilderness to the northwest and by mountains to the east.
Unlike in the Nilfgaardian Empire, the mages held a high position here and even the Emperor was unable to order them to do something - only gently ask.

Notes[]
- The Empire appears in Oko Yrrhedesa, the role-playing tabletop game by Andrzej Sapkowski. While it shares many similarities to the Witcher lore and refers to the characters from the novels a couple of times, its exact connection to the World and the Continent remains unknown.
- It is rather not the Nilfgaardian Empire, as it is much less developed and not based on the elven culture. On the contrary, many traits of its realms resemble Nordling culture.
- If indeed part of the Witcher Continent, the Empire must have existed much earlier than the age described in The Witcher series. Several adjacent regions are still unexplored in Yrrhedes timeline and monsters are abundant.
