Biography[]
Golden Age of the Elves[]
Eredin was a young army captain in Xin'trea who worked with the court's mage, Balor, to overthrow King Alvitir and install the deceased king's sister, Merwyn, as empress of the Golden Empire. But in reality, the mage and Eredin ruled the empire. Despite this, Eredin had to keep his romantic relationship with another elf, Brían, a secret due his love being from a lower class, which wasn't allowed. Unbeknownst to the couple, Merwyn discovered this forbidden relationship but offered a way to allow them to be publicly together if he helped her out against Balor. This alliance was short-lived though: Balor tricked the group and sent Eredin and his troops to another realm for betraying him, separating him forever from Brían.
Imprisoned forever in a desolate world, without hope or humanity, Eredin began to take his first steps become one of the specters who would later become known throughout the Continent as the legendary Wild Hunt.
Specters[]
Generations later, when Ciri freed herself from the Immortal Mother, Voleth Meir, and entered her homeland with Geralt and Yennefer, Voleth Meir freed herself from her vessel by joining the Wild Hunt, among them was Eredin as their leader. He encouraged Ciri, as the "Daughter of Chaos" to join them, but Ciri managed to whisk herself and her adoptive parents away before Eredin could capture her.
Later, Eredin and the Wild Hunt managed to escape from their home sphere, appearing as ghosts chasing Ciri, before being stopped by Geralt and disappearing.
