Exhortatio is the fifth and final stage to a lament as taught by the witches Milda and Zemyna of the Kestrel Mountains during the 13th century. It is the moral admonishment stage and lies after consolatio, otherwise known as the consolation stage. Exhortatio is performed by staring into a placebo "magic" artefact known as "the Eye" and discovering the path to your moral admonishment, though in reality upon entering the Eye, the subject discovers an empty room. The witches considered a lament left broken or unfinished to possibly lead to tragedy and strongly encouraged participants to see through the process.[1]
The warrior Bandura's exhortatio was to duel the witcher Geralt of Rivia to the death, from which she was killed but regardless felt free from her guilt toward death.[1]
