Fjall Stoneheart was a warrior elf who, just prior to the Conjunction of the Spheres, worked with six others to take down the Continent's new empire. The group's actions led to the Conjunction of the Spheres and made Fjall the first, but ultimately failed, witcher prototype.

Biography[]

Dog Clan[]

Fjall was born to Chieftain Osfar, the leader of the Dog Clan. This group was comprised of warriors trained from birth to act as the royal guard for Xin'trea's rulers, and Fjall was likewise raised to uphold their role as protectors. Later as an adult during a battle, his brother Kareg was killed by the enemy much to their father's dismay, and Fjall felt it should have been him that died there instead.

At one point Fjall was assigned as Princess Merwyn's protector and he taught her a few fighting basics while he watched over her. The two soon developed feelings for each other, but as he was her sworn protector, this would violate his Clan's code and, after they were almost caught in the act, pretended it didn't happen when they were around others. However, after an assassination attempt on the princess' life where Fjall rescued her, they eventually found themselves alone in her bedroom where they confessed they hadn't forgotten what happened between them earlier and proceeded to have sex. However, Osfar soon noticed his son wasn't at his usual post and burst into the room to find the two in bed together. Per the Dog Clan's code, Fjall was then taken to Xin'trea's border to be banished and forgotten. As they got there, Fjall remarked he knew his father wished it was Kareg that returned alive from battle instead, though Osfar only noted he was glad at least Kareg didn't live to see Fjall betray his clan and family. He then sent his son away from the kingdom.

Meeting Lark[]

With nowhere else to go, Fjall leaned on his warrior skills and became a sellsword, eventually finding his way to a small island in the north, Inis Dubh. However, he got into trouble and was soon imprisoned here, only to be joined shortly after by Éile, a former warrior for the rival Raven Clan who protected the Pryshian rulers. Despite the two revealing they weren't associated with their former clans, they got into a skirmish as Éile swore she'd get vengeance against Fjall for taking one of her cousin's eyes during the Battle of Brokilon.

However, they were soon interrupted by guards, who revealed Fjall was free to go as someone had paid them off. Fjall then left the prison only to soon run into his cousin Shen, the one responsible for Fjall's release. Shen then informed Fjall that Osfar was asking for his son to return home as a treaty was being signed between all the kingdoms and they needed all the warriors they could get to show up to it. Having no desire to return though, Fjall refused and instead headed for the village's brothel, only to find out his only thing of worth to pay them with, a tooth pendant, had been stolen by Éile.
