Gardis was a witcher and a student of the School of the Wolf. He was one of the witchers who participated in the Witcher Tournament.[1]
Biography[]
Gardis was trained as a witcher at the School of the Wolf. When the Wolf and Cat schools were ordered by King Radowit II to engage in a student exchange and exam, Gardis was among the witchers chosen for the exchange. He traveled alongside Aubry, Geralt, and Gweld. During their journey, Gardis teased Gweld for his sensitive nature.
At the exchange, tensions began to rise between Geralt, Gweld, and the Cat witchers. Gardis tried to deescalate the situation, reminding Geralt that they weren't supposed to fight. When a duel between Gweld and the Cat witcher "Rat-Catcher" threatened to spiral out of control, a group of locals arrived, but Vesemir and Guxart intervened just in time, restoring order. It was decided that only Gweld would be exchanged, while the others returned to their respective camps.
Later, during the Trial of Forest Eyes, Gardis, like most of the other Wolf witchers, cheated by removing his blindfold. As punishment, Vesemir hung them upside down by their ankles.
During the Witcher Tournament, the School of the Cat betrayed the Wolf witchers under orders from King Radowit II's royal astrologer, Astrogarus. Immediately after the Cats' betrayal, the king ordered the execution of all the witchers present, both Wolf and Cat. Gardis perished alongside the others, with only Geralt surviving.[1]
