Duchess Gaudemunda Thyssen was the eldest child of Esterad Thyssen and Zuleyka and the sister of Tankred and Heloiza. She was married to Prince Aristide Vermuellen of Kovir and had at least one child, Prince Guiscard.
Biography[]
After the war over the Duchy of Creyden between the recently reunited Kovir and Poviss and the newly established Hengfors League, the Fourth Treaty of Lan Exeter granted Creyden to young Gaudemunda, with her father Esterad governing the Duchy until she became an adult.
Gaudemunda married Aristide Vermuellen, an aristocrat and her father's spymaster.[1] Around 1257, she bore him a son, Guiscard, who would eventually inherit the Duchy at one point in his adulthood.[2]
Trivia[]
- Gaudemunda was the name of a daughter of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Traidenis, whose Polish name Trojden was given to yet another Kovirian monarch.
