Giacomo Cianfanelli was a dwarven banker from the well-known banking family, the Cianfanellis. He ran their branch located in Beauclair, the capital of Toussaint.

Biography[]

Giacomo was born into the Cianfanelli family and eventually became the director of their Beauclair branch. The Witcher Geralt of Rivia opened an account at his bank when he stayed in the Duchy, and when Giacomo learned of the witcher’s death, he circulated the contents of the account, buying stocks, bonds, and investing in some vineyards.

One day, Giacomo was called to attend to a problem at the bank by one of his clerks. Geralt had returned and wanted to withdraw the coin from his account, but due to him being declared dead, he could neither withdraw it nor obtain the necessary paperwork to reactivate his account.

At first, Giacomo maintained that his hands were tied, as the forms had to be in order. However, upon being shown a document with the Duchess’s seal, he quickly led the witcher to his vault. There, the witcher discovered that Giacomo had spent all his money. Giacomo swore he would be able to repay the witcher.

If Geralt decided to wait for his coin: Geralt, though upset, kept his calm and told Giacomo he had one week to pay him back, to which Giacomo agreed. One week later, he repaid the witcher his coin plus a gift—the sword Reckoner. He also apologized to the witcher for the whole ordeal.

If Geralt demanded his coin immediately: Geralt, upset at being robbed, demanded his coin immediately. He beat the guards Giacomo had with him before going after the banker. Meanwhile, Giacomo was instructing his clerk to pay out the witcher’s coin—having subtracted taxes and adjusted for inflation—before closing the witcher’s account. He told Geralt never to return to his bank, stating that he didn’t need patrons like him.

If Geralt demanded his coin immediatly, but lost to the guards: Geralt, upset at being robbed, demanded his coin immediately and fought with the guards Giacomo had with him but lost. Giacomo then had him tossed out of the bank, gave the witcher his coin, and told him never to return, as he could do without patrons like him.
