Glyswen is a village in Geso formerly known as "White River". After White River was pillaged, raized, and the original population killed or enslaved by the House Varnhagen of Sarda, Nilfgaardian settlers moved in and renamed it "Glyswen". Built at the foot of a mountain next to a beech forest, it consisted of about ten huts surrounded by a palisade, and one inn.[1]

History[]

The Rats[]

In July 1267, the inn in the village is where Ciri was taken after being captured by the Trappers and where she first met Kayleigh, who had recently been captured by the Nissir gang. As Ciri's and Kayleigh's captors ate, drank and boasted to each other, the two captives tried to escape.

Luckily for them, the Rats came for Kayleigh. Less fortunately for everyone else, this resulted in the death of everyone at the inn, including the innkeeper whom Ciri had tried to warn. As the gang fled the village, the residents came out with spears and bows chasing them off.[1]
