Guxart was a witcher from the School of the Cat and served as the right-hand man of the School's leader, Treyse.[1]
Biography[]
When the Dyn Marv caravan was stationed in Kaedwen under the sponsorship of King Radowit II, the Schools of the Cat and Wolf were ordered to engage in an exchange of students. However, both schools only halfheartedly participated in the exchange. Later, a Witcher Tournament was organized between the two schools, intended to determine which would continue to receive royal funding and gain the exclusive right to operate in Kaedwen.
Guxart oversaw the training at the Cat School's camp in preparation for the tournament. During the student exchange at an inn, tensions flared and led to a duel. Guxart, along with Vesemir, intervened just in time to prevent it from escalating into a full-blown brawl. Although Guxart didn't particularly like Vesemir, the two witchers agreed to only exchange the student Gweld and send the others back. Both men found the situation suspicious and suspected someone might be trying to pit the two schools against each other.
Back at the Cat School camp, Guxart was deeply impressed with Gweld's swordsmanship, eventually running out of worthy opponents for him to face. Unbeknownst to Guxart, his deputy was secretly training the Cat witchers in wrestling under the orders of the royal astrologer, Astrogarus.
A week before the tournament, Guxart and Vesemir were secretly arrested by Kaedweni soldiers under the pretense of appearing before the king. As they were being carted away, they noticed the construction of the arena for the tournament but were denied a closer inspection. He and Vesemir were presumably released after the massacre that followed.[1]
