Haft is a craftable junk item in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt that can be dismantled into hardened timber. It is not needed for anything.
Crafting Requirements 
It can be found as random loot in Toussaint or dismantled from the following items:

- There is no monetary advantage to crafting this or dismantling: it's just above the break even point to purchase one and dismantle for the hardened timber to sell for crowns, and crafting a haft costs more than its worth to sell. Likewise, crafting to dismantle later is a money sink.
- As hardened timber is an easily accessible crafting item, it's unlikely one will need to resort to dismantling hafts to get it.
- Due to the oddity of it being craftable but not actually needed for anything, it's likely it was originally meant for crafting other items but was later changed (similar to how fiber was meant to be needed for crafting items but was similarly changed).
