Harassing a Troll is an unmarked secondary quest in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
The rewarded in this quest is unaffected by the difficulty level.
Walkthrough[]
Travel into forest area far northwest from the Inn at the Crossroads. Close to the river bank is a small collection of rocks, a campfire, and a larger collection of five nekkers intent on swarming over a hapless rock troll. Join in the fray and slay all of the nekkers.
Afterwards, Boris informs you that his culinary tastes (nekker soup) may have influenced the attack. A dialogue will pop up where it doesn't matter what you say, only a different funny conversation will follow. At the end, Boris will give Geralt an elf head and the quest will then complete. (25)
Don't forget to check for loot around, as the two bundles near the pot have 2 random diagrams each!

Notes[]
- Finding the location is a bit difficult due to no nearby landmarks. If you found the guarded treasure area on the eastern side of Mudplough, look to the west (and slightly south) until you hit the opposite shoreline of the isle. Boris is near this area.
- If Geralt asks what else is in the soup, he will ask if there are no humans in the pot, the troll will reply he does not eat humans as he likes to talk to them while Nekkers and Ghouls never talk. Geralt will reply that he once met a talking Ghoul. This is a nod to the first Witcher game or more precisely Vetala.
- This quest actually has its own notice, but it doesn't seem to appear on notice boards. In early versions of the game, it also had varying endings and rewards.
