Hughes de Saberre was a Beauclair resident that stole the genitals from Reginald d'Aubry's statue.
Biography[]
In 1275, Hughes used a diamond saw to steal the genitals from the statue of Reginald d'Aubry located above Lolivier Square in Beauclair. He was motivated by the claim that the genitals grant unparalleled virility to whomever strokes them. With the stones in hand, Hughes went home and thrice had sex with a woman named Rosalinda. Whether or not it was due to placebo, Hughes indeed had a higher libido as he had sex more times that day than in the entire decade prior.
However, Hughes was tracked down by Geralt of Rivia who was hired by the art curator managing the Reginald d'Aubry exhibition to find and return the missing genitals. After arriving at Hughes's house and saving him from Rosalinda's husband, Geralt had to decide whether or not to let Hughes keep the stolen goods.
If Hughes kept Reginald's genitals: In the week following his theft, Hughes died, presumably from heart complications brought on from having too much sex, and Rosalinda mourned his passing outside his house. Following Hughes' death, the following message was posted on the door of his house:
- It is with great sadness we announce our large-hearted friend, Hughes de Saberre, has unexpectedly shuffled off this mortal coil. He died as he lived - loving and being loved.
If Hughes returned Reginald's genitals after an extra day with them: Before returning the genitals, Hughes moved on to another partner – Rosalinda's cousin Louisa.
