Humbert Reardon had been a member of the once prominent Reardon family and the twin brother of Dolores. The family lived in their manor near Lindenvale, Velen and the twins happily managed the estate together.[1]
However, a man named Roderick came through the area and soon swept Dolores off her feet. Knowing Humbert might have a problem with him marrying Dolores though, Roderick knocked Humbert unconscious and walled him up in the estate's cellar, leaving him to die there while he married and took Dolores with him back to Gors Velen. Despite being justifiably mad, Humbert hoped that at least Roderick would bring his sister happiness.[2]
