IDR UL Ex IX 0012 BETA (or Number Twelve) was an idr that hunted in the forests in Ansegis, Kerack, having killed at least 20 people that dared to take a shortcut through the area. However, it's far more likely that it killed many more and had likely been there for years.
The local official, Albert Smulka, hired the witcher Geralt to deal with the unknown, deadly creature in 1245 and who successfully did so, though not before it killed one of the people Geralt had secretly used as bait.

- Its name comes from a metal plate attached to its skin, which all stood for "Idarran of Ulivo, Experimental model 9, Specimen twelve, Beta version".
- While Geralt tells Smulka it was an arachnomorph when asked, Geralt actually didn't know what it was but didn't want to reveal his ignorance to the man.
