King of the Wolves (creature)

Template:Infoboxbestiary The King of the Wolves is a minor boss which Ciri fights during the quest Ciri's Story: The King of the Wolves located in Velen during a flashback seen the main quest line of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. While fleeing some unknown threat Ciri encounters and rescues a girl named Gretka. Gretka warns Ciri about a "Wolf King" that is preventing her from returning home while leading Ciri to the cave which is the monster's lair. Ciri slays the beast and Gretka escapes with her to the nearby village of Lindenvale.

Combat Tactics

Preparing the proper sword oil is essential to making this boss fight easier. Follow the quest walkthrough to ensure you prepare the right oil. Ciri will have no time to meditate prior to the fight, but if she properly prepared the oil before hand it will already be applied to her sword. Basic dodge skills and attack moves are the only moves available to Ciri during this fight. This enemy has only melee attacks and will use a dash every so often to close a gap. The best strategy is to dodge in, fast attack, and dodge out before Ciri can be hit.
