King Maeglor was an elven ruler of Aen Seidhe realm in the area of now-day Novigrad. He lived in a palace in the center of Est Tayiar, a beautiful and prospering city. If legends are to be believed he was also powerful mage and seer.
At one point during his reign, the city's inhabitants began to mysteriously die out in large numbers. King Maeglor foresaw that he, too, would die and cast a spell that made the earth swallow the city whole so that no outsider could ever desecrate it.[1]
Trivia[]
- His name is inspired by Maglor, the elven bard in Tolkien's legendarium. He had a brother named Caranthir, who was an inspiration for another notorious elf.
