Mayhe (possibly: Mayhen)[N 1] is either a distant place or a culture, where Mayhenian scourges, known also as Lamias, originated from. Apart from the assumption that people there are supposedly less civilized than Nordlings as the usage of lamias is not prohibited, not much is known.[1]

Footnotes[]

  1. The name appears in both the original Polish version of Eternal Flame short story and its English translation only as part of the adjective (Polish: "Mayheński", English: "Mayhenian"). The original noun is not mentioned and could be reconstructed as either Mayhe or Mayhen. The article is named accordingly to the official French edition of the books, where the name does appear as noun (the weapon there is called fouet de Mayhe, the "scourge of Mayhe"). The name itself seems to be a wordplay on "mayhem".
