Olaf Stigvason was a famous warrior from Skellige and whom a 10 year old Ciri was extremely infatuated with. However, he was 35 years old, married, and with children that were older than Ciri herself, making it a hopeless situation.
Extremely in love with Olaf but seeing no way to be with him, Ciri decided she'd commit suicide by drowning and waited for favorable weather conditions to do. However, it took too long for the conditions to be right and she eventually got over her heartbreak during the wait.[1]
