Parlaghy was a merchant and a member of the merchants' guild. When Xymena de Sepulveda, the daughter of industrialist Briana de Sepulveda, was kidnapped by an aguara, the entire merchants' guild clubbed together and funded an expedition to rescue the child. Alongside fellow merchant Kevenard van Vliet, Parlaghy offered his own participation and set out on van Vliet's cutter, the Prophet Lebioda, in pursuit.
Ultimately the rescue mission was botched, and instead of Xymena they managed to abduct a different she-fox altogether, prompting chase by its own aguara mother. Whilst guarding the she-fox, Parlaghy was thought to have inadvertently killed the girl, making flight from the pursuing vixen even more of a necessity. Nevertheless, the aguara caught up to the Prophet Lebioda and its crew, and when confronted by the creature, Parlaghy opted to jump overboard instead of face the consequences of his actions. He sank and drowned at once. Ironically, when the aguara met the witcher Geralt and minstrel Dandelion for the final time, she reveals that the 'death' of the she-fox was in fact an illusion, and that she was alive and well.
