"Do you really wish to know?" — Spoilers from the books and/or adaptations to follow!
There are two (2) passwords that can be used during Chapter III. One password can be used to gain access to the Salamandra hideout in the quest Following the Thread. Another password is used to identify the City Guard Officer who is secretly helping Declan Leuvaarden's organization in the Lock and Key quest.
Salamandra Hideout password[]
- Quest: Following the Thread
- Password: "thorn"
- This Salamandra hideout is the "Fisstech lab" located in the Sewers beneath Vizima's Temple Quarter. Two guards block the grate leading into the hideout and ask for a password when Geralt approaches. There is a hint regarding the password in the Letter of recommendation, but Geralt can bribe The New Narakort Innkeeper to tell him what it is for 233

City Guard password[]
- Quest: Lock and Key
- The password for the City Guard Officer, who patrols Vizima's Trade Quarter, is given to Geralt by Leuvaarden at The New Narakort. You do not need to actually commit it to memory, Geralt has done that for you (it's the only choice in the conversation possibilities).
