Peregrine was a prince of Nilfgaard who was briefly a suitor for Princess Pavetta's hand in marriage.

Biography[]

Royal betrothal[]

Peregrine attended the betrothal party for Princess Pavetta, hosted by Queen Calanthe in Cintra. When it was his turn to make his pitch to Pavetta, Draig Bon-Dhu repeatedly played bagpipes to interrupt him until Calanthe silenced Draig. Finally free to speak, Peregrine assured Calanthe that his marriage to Pavetta would form a powerful alliance that would be unassailable, and he also assured her that his "potent seed inside Pavetta" would ensure the "strongest of male heirs".

This immediately disgusted Pavetta and prompted Calanthe to insult his country, contemptuously calling it the "shit rag of the south" for its supposed weakness. She continued the insult by calling into question the stability of his position in Nilfgaard, having already suffered a coup recently, and questioned whether he'd hold the Nilfgaardian throne for even a day. Enraged, Peregrine stormed out with his guards.[1]

Notes[]

  • Prince Peregrine might be the TV series' analogue to Prince Voorhis, a Nilfgaardian aristocrat mentioned in the novels.
