- Peter Evertsen, Time of Contempt

Peter Evertsen (b. 1234 – d. 1301) was a Nilfgaardian official, confidant of Imperator Emhyr var Emreis, chief chamberlain of the Nilfgaardian Army during Second Northern War and from, from 1290 until his imprisonment, imperial treasurer of the crown and coadjutor of the Empire. He entered the office when he was fifteen and many historians, including Effenberg and Talbot in their Encyclopaedia Maxima Mundi, considered him one of the true architects of the Empire's power.

While serving as the main bailiff during the second war, he issued a decree which essentially called for the annihilation of Aedirn, Lyria and Rivia. Later, during the reign of Morvran Voorhis, he was falsely accused of abuse of power, convicted, and imprisoned at Winneburg Castle where he was executed by hanging in 1301. Ultimately, he was cleared, though posthumously, by the Imperator Jan Calveit in 1328.

Encyclopaedia Maxima Mundi entry

Evertsen, Peter, b. 1234, confidant of Emperor Emhyr Deithwen and one of the true authors of the Empire's might. The chief chamberlain of the army during the time of the Northern Wars (q.v.), from 1290 imperial treasurer of the crown. In the final period of Emhyr's rule, he was raised to the rank of coadjutor of the Empire. During the rule of Emperor Morvran Voorhis he was falsely accused of misappropriation of funds, found guilty, imprisoned and died in 1301 in Winneburg Castle. Posthumously rehabilitated by Emperor Jan Calveit in 1328.
