In the world of The Witcher, the term quadroon refers to a person who has one quarter elven blood (whose parents are either one human and one half-elf, or two quadroons). Only the pickiest about race consider them nonhuman.

Trivia

  • This term is lifted from actual history, part of a hypodescent vocabulary developed to distinguish levels of either African or Australian Aboriginal ancestry, which is now considered offensive.

Notes

  1. Later information dug up by Fenn would suggest that Fiona was actually Falka's daughter, not Riannon's. In this case, that means Adela would be 3/8ths elf while Fiona would be (at least) 1/8th.
