Scavenger Hunt: Cat School Gear Upgrade Diagrams - Part 2 is a treasure hunt in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
This section covers finding the enhanced diagrams for the gauntlets, trousers, and steel sword.
Walkthrough[]
The easiest way to get all the markers on the map is to buy Adalbert Kermith's second map from Blackbough's blacksmith.
The gauntlets diagram is found at Codgers' Quarry, near one of the Looters group. If you approach with weapon drawn they'll be immediately hostile, but if sheathed, they'll talk but essentially want you to leave, however alghouls suddenly attack ending that conversation. If saved, the men will thank you and you can then head into the cave here to find the chest with the diagram.
The trousers diagram is found in Oxenfurt, in the house just to the east of the blacksmith. Enter the main floor and, near where the cat marker is, climb down the ladder and follow the tunnel into a room with 2 gates on either side. Use your Witcher Senses on the area between the brick wall and the gate on the right to find a brick you can interact with, opening a hidden room on the brick wall. Inside is the chest containing the diagram. However, if you go there after you raided one of Whoreson Junior's business with Cleaver's men, but before you start the quest A Favor for Radovid (Which automatically start after you finish Get Junior and leave that house), the hole would be sealed and you cannot get the diagram until A Favor for Radovid starts.
The steel sword diagram is found in a cave just northeast of Reardon Manor (the same cave during Fools' Gold). If the quest is active, bandits will be just outside the cave and inside as well. If you don't have the DLC though, a bear will be here instead. Regardless, the chest you want is near the end, on the left (opposite corner from the elven ruins).
Journal entry[]
- During one of his numerous adventures, Geralt got his hands on a map covered with strange markings. He quickly deduced that they indicated the locations of hidden witcher caches and, intrigued by the chance of discovering long-lost crafting schematics, he set out to find them.
Geralt found all the caches marked on the map and recovered the crafting schematics contained therein. With these in hand, he could add life-saving improvements to his combat gear. He did not know how many more such caches remained undiscovered in the world - but hoped one day he would have the chance to find more.
