Scavenger Hunt: Grandmaster Wolven Gear is a treasure hunt quest in the Blood and Wine expansion. The quest can be started by speaking to the armorer Lazare Lafargue in Beauclair, or by finding one of the notes at its location.
Diagram locations[]
Go to Termes Palace Ruins and use your Witcher Senses to find a casket in the camp near the signpost. Inside you will find Isabelle Duchamp's journal, read it and go north through the ruins. You will find a Quen Place of Power, for which you have to drop down on the eastern side, but the entrance you are looking for is a bit further.
There are wolves in the area that you might encounter on the way and right outside you will find George Herbert's letter and a Purple Ruby. Use the ruby to the right of the barrier, this will disable it and allow you to enter. Prepare your specter oil as there are wraiths and barghests waiting right behind the barrier.
The door to the right is closed, so go left to find a breakable wall and destroy it with Aard. Inside you will be attacked by a giant centipede so kill it and move on, eventually you will have to break another wall. Drop down, but be on your guard as there are more wraiths and barghests here, and even more will come from the adjacent rooms. Once done, go to the small dead end room to find the remains of a witcher, on which you will find 3 of the diagrams. (150) Now go the opposite way and on the floor of the next room you will find the witcher's bag which has the other 3 diagrams (150), Rebis and a journal if you're interested in reading.
After looting all 6 diagrams the quest ends. To get out proceed to the next room you will find the other side of the locked door, with its key right beside it on the floor. A barghest will have appeared on the other side, but that is all.
Journal entry[]
- Geralt himself was of the School of the Wolf, so it's no surprise he was particularly interested in finding diagrams that would allow him to craft grandmaster level gear of this brotherhood. He began his search by visiting elven ruins a certain witcher had visited years before while protecting the members of an archeological expedition.
- Geralt's own exploration of the site ended in the cellars beneath the ruins. Our hero learned the scholars had reached a spot haunted by elven specters. Both the learned men and the witcher escorting them had perished at the wraiths' hands. Geralt proved a mite luckier. He not only emerged from the ruins alive, but he also found all the diagrams he gone there to seek.
Objectives[]
- Find all the diagrams in the set: 0/6
- Go to where the archeologists camped.
- Search the archeologists' campsite.
- Read the archeologist's journal
- Find the entrance to the chambers under the ruins.
- Find the key that opens the barrier in the passage to the underground chambers.
- Explore the chambers under the ruins.
Notes[]
- In the room between the two half-sets of diagrams, one can also find Aweagnial's letter.
- At multiple points of interest, north, east and northeast of the Termes Palace Ruins, more documents related to Isabelle Duchamp's archeological expedition story can be found, some crossing over into other quests as well.
- The barrier to the undergrounds can be re-sealed after ending the quest by removing the Purple Ruby, and if not, higher-level barghests will appear around the ruins.
- There are empty quest item notes in the game files (item IDs: 'th701_wg_initial_note', 'th701_wg_pants_note', 'th701_wg_swords_note'), suggesting that this quest was originally designed differently.
