Slyzards Through the Ages is a book in the Blood and Wine expansion, which adds the bestiary entry for Slyzards.

It can be found as random loot on bookshelves in houses around Toussaint, or purchased from the Ducal Camerlengo.

Journal entry[]

For many years, it was erroneously believed slyzards were simply wyverns in their highest stage of development. One "scholar," whose completion of an academic course of study must have been the result of no small miracle, heatedly defended this point of view in a "scientific" work whose title I shall mercifully withhold. His main line of reasoning was an absurd and completely off the mark parallel drawn between the developmental cycles of the slyzard and pieris brassicae, also known as the cabbage butterfly. "A slyzard" – claimed the author – "is nothing but a fully mature wyvern that has developed fire glands."
Utter rubbish! Let it be known once and for all that Charles von Linné is a filthy fopdoodle and an uneducated knucklehead – a slyzard is not by any means the same beast as a wyvern!

Trivia[]

  • Charles von Linné is a reference to Carl von Linné, a Swedish zoologist (among other things) also known as the "father of modern taxonomy."
