Friend of Trolls[]
I haven't gotten the achievement, but from the description on the troll of Vergen it seems that the only way to get the achievement is Iorveth's path. I've played Roche's path and there is no mention of Triss when I met the troll on my way to Vergen. And if I remember correctly the trolls are inaccessible from the Kaedweni camp before the siege on Vergen. If that is true, it makes the achievement only available to Iorveth's path. On Roche's path, you encounter the same 2 trolls on the Vergen side of the mist as on Iorveth's path (albeit much later in the chapter), and you can spare them or kill them. So it should be possible to earn it. The main problem with Roche's path is that there is a one hostile troll on the Kaedweni/camp side of the mist you can run into that cannot be placated/spoken with; he just attacks you. I'm not sure if this "hostile" troll counts towards the achievement as I don't think you see him at all on the Iorveth path (after you cross over, that is). In any event, it is far easier to earn the "Friend" achievement going Iorveth. -Anon, 6/14/11
As I've mentioned, I've met them, left them alone and went my merry way to Vergen. The couple are alive and well and I have not met the hostile troll, so essentially I have spared all of them and yet have not gotten the achievement. Glahardt 23:46, June 18, 2011 (UTC)

Origins and sense of the achievements[]
Please, can somebody write an intro for this article so that everybody knows, that only special versions of The Witcher 2 have these coins? A small description of the origins and where the achievements appear - explain it to a not-steam-user.
