The Collected Verse of Gonzal de Verceo is a book in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

One guaranteed copy of this book is found in a chest at the Royal Palace in Vizima, in the room where Geralt and Yennefer meet during the quest Imperial Audience. Multiple copies are also found in the underground library during the quest Now or Never, where Triss has a unique voice line mentioning the book.

In the Blood and Wine expansion, it can be found as random loot inside rich houses around Beauclair, and near people having picnics, suggesting that it is a popular leisurely read among Toussaintous.

Journal entry[]

'Love
To love is to build a house of cards, or play a game of chess
But one wrong word or ill-thought move
And you must start it all afresh.
Tide
Whenever I watch the tide recede
Cold coils of fear grip round my heart.
Will the seas sneak back, calm and sure
In the dark of night as they have before?
Or will they stay on distant shores
Leaving crushed shells and washed-up dreams
As memory of surfs of yore?

Trivia[]

  • The name "Gonzal de Verceo" is a reference to the 14th century Castillian poet, Gonzalo de Berceo.
