Template:Quest
The Monster of the Lake is one of nine optional trophy quests. It is obtained by killing Nadir, a drowned dead for whom the Royal huntsman is offering a reward. Only one trophy quest, The Beast of the Sewers, is not optional, making a total of ten.
Walkthrough
Nadir, a drowned dead can be found just east of the mill near the Miller's Gate, but remember that these drowners only come out at night. "The Monster of the Lake" first sends his minions, his drowner buddies, after you so group style is advised. After getting rid of his friends, you can then concentrate on the drowned dead himself. He will not really put up a fight. Equipping the Red ribbon talisman will prevent the other drowners from attacking you, if you need a little extra help. Bring his head to the Royal huntsman and the 200 
are all yours.
Although you can meet the Royal huntsman again in Chapter III, this quest cannot be completed after Chapter I.
Notes
- Nadir spawns before or after Strangers in the Night is completed, simply not while the quest is active.
- Knockdown works well as a strategy.

I killed a monster which was feeding at the lakeside. I should extract proof from its body and go to see a lawman, who will pay me for completing this assignment. I should talk to the Royal Huntsman. I should take the trophy to the Royal Huntsman and collect my reward.

I collected my reward for killing the drowned dead. I can probably negotiate a higher reward if I kill more monsters and bring back trophies. I should deliver any trophies I collect off dead monsters to the Royal Huntsman. (200 + 1000 XP)
