On Selling to Merchants

The prices you sell to merchants depends on three factors -

1 - The speciality of the merchant you are selling to (eg blacksmith, herbalist),

2 - The skill level of the merchant and

3 - Any changes as a result of quest accomplishments.

For example, lets say we want to sell a basic Glyph of Axii which has a value of 508 as shown in your inventory. Any amateur blacksmith or armourer such as the quartermaster for the Nilfgard in White Orchard will buy it from you for 102. However, a journeyman blacksmith or armourer such as the ones in Oxenfurt or Novigrad will offer 212. General merchants will only offer 65 for the item.

There is no price difference if you sell a weapon or armor to a blacksmith or armourer, both will offer the same price for the item.
