Good day. You have my deep respect for your great knowledge on Witcher 3 stats and effects. I won't question anything you say. I will admit that I know nothing and I am a noob to the Witcher series.
So that's why I'm here today about Metamorphosis. On the Metamorphosis page under "tips" it states that random decoctions will activate even if they are not in the inventory. But when I tested it out myself on the PC, I had a different experience. I chose three decoctions to keep in my inventory and destroyed all the rest. When I fought some Arachnomorphs and used the exploding crossbow for the critical effect, only those three decoctions in my inventory activated. I still have yet to see a duplicate decoction activate as well. I'm currently behind on the Playstation 4 version, so I can't really tell if my platform is what is causing the effects of Metamorphosis to work differently than stated here on this wiki. So that's why I'm turning to a true expert to see if you experienced the same thing.
P.S.: Thanks for the Forktail Decoction page. I didn't know I could use bombs and the crossbow in the combo. That's useful for my build.
Yes, it's a version difference. Game is very different for each one of us. I recently attacked Victor for writing wrong info on the page but then I realised I have different, updated 1.32 and not a goty edition. Game is very different on every platform and even every version. Most of the infor regarding quests - is irrelevant or not for my version of game. However, some quests like Final preaprations - have up to date info for console but not PC.
To be honest game is very complicated and code is messed up, why we don't have enb for witcher ;(
You're not the only one who's made an arse of themself to Victor. But indeed that will make adding info to this wiki so difficult. Because I was going to see if anyone could try an exploit to use Metamorphosis + Cockatrice Decoction to constantly gain an extra potion or bomb everytime Metamorphosis activates that decoction (as long as Geralt consumes the extra potion or throws the extra bomb before the Cockatrice wears off). In my GOTY edition on Steam, Metamorphosis only activates decoctions that are in my inventory, meaning Cockatrice will always activate if that one and two others are the only ones there. But this strategy won't work if other people's Metamorphosis activates any decoction whether they are crafted or not.
My version is GOG GOTY ver 1.32 on PC so it's obviously the latest. However, Steam versions can be outdated same as console versions. So it's possible some mechanics work differently. But I'm certain the mutation is suppose to work as I described as it's like a counterpart to Side Effects.
Well that's a shame. This was going to be the official mutation for my main build. I was enjoying being able to choose exactly which decoctions activate and which ones don't. But it wouldn't be fair to play this way if other people can't. Oh well, I guess it's back to Cat Eyes.
