Tobias was the guard captain of the Lyrian capital in 1267.
Biography[]
Serving Queen Meve for several years, he betrayed her in 1267 during the Lyrian golpe, when Count Caldwell and the Nilfgaardian Empire took control of the country. After she escaped from the dungeons of the city, she came across Tobias guarding the city gate, and not recognising him, asked for him to prove his old loyalty by letting her and her remaining men pass, which, after hesitation, he did.
After Meve had fled the country and entered Aedirn, Tobias was assigned to the city's palace where he started to write letters to Meve, informing her of Nilfgaard's plans, as he wished to pay her back for his previous cowardice and betrayal.
Just before the war's end however, Tobias was discovered and beheaded by the Nilfgaardians, after several days of torture. His family (his wife and two children of 12 and 7 years of age), was captured and taken into custody, though their fate is unknown.
